Sycamore and Walnut Coffee Table


This coffee table uses American black walnut and European sycamore from our board store.
Martin says " I used mortice and tenon joints for the legs and cross rails. The sycamore table top mitres were held together with hidden oak joining strips in a similar fashion to biscuits."

The wood you recently supplied was excellent in every way.  The pieces were extremely well padded in bubble wrap and delivered on time. The colour and grain of the oak were exactly right and the planed dimensions were 100% accurate.  The timber was required for a furniture repair.  I had only worked with softwoods before, and I had concerns that I might have trouble handling the hardness of oak.  As it turned out I need not have worried, and it proved to be a pleasure to work with.   Thank you.
