French Oak..

We have just returned from an inspiring visit to some French sawmills, where we placed an order for some new stock arriving soon!
I found this video on YouTube that show some of the operations of a French sawmill. This is not one of the sawmills we visited, and I didn't make this video, but I thought I'd show it here because it gives an insight into what goes on in the production of Oak. Enjoy!

The wood you recently supplied was excellent in every way.  The pieces were extremely well padded in bubble wrap and delivered on time. The colour and grain of the oak were exactly right and the planed dimensions were 100% accurate.  The timber was required for a furniture repair.  I had only worked with softwoods before, and I had concerns that I might have trouble handling the hardness of oak.  As it turned out I need not have worried, and it proved to be a pleasure to work with.   Thank you.
